Intro
“The Pearl of Africa” is what the people of Uganda call their country. And as soon as you get there, you immediately understand why. A land abounding in greenery and water sources, a land of hospitable inhabitants, a nature that has no parallel, communities of chimpanzees and gorillas that add to the mysterious and fascinating character, and lake areas that look like they were taken from an adventure movie. In colonial times, Uganda has indeed served as the center of activity for explorers, adventurers, missionaries, and treasure seekers.
And today we are the explorers of the world. We make our way through thick jungles on hiking trails that lead to the colonies of large communities of chimpanzees, and mainly through waterfalls and blinding green to the colonies of mountain gorillas. All this against a background of magical villages and agricultural landscapes, which enshrouds our tour in an atmosphere of time travel.
